What a great late Christmas present...

Wow China knocked me off my feet this morning...only 19 days from the last batch of referrals arrived and more came today. They finally finished February and this was an answered prayer. Can you believe we are into single digits? It makes the dream of a late February/early March referral stay alive for me. I think I can say April would be the latest but with only 4 business days ahead of me I'm gonna put my heart out there one more time and hold on to March. It's so cool to say I'm hopefully next, next! It's been nice to have a smile on my face all day today (that hasn't happened in a long while).

Not official but close enough...

I think it's safe to say we are getting through the 23rd for this months referrals. This is what the Spanish site is saying and they also report that referrals are on the way. I was hoping for the 24th (minimum...heart was really set on the 27th). It's disappointing because I think it will push us out another month to April of 2009. I know I should be happy I'm so close (especially when I think of all the families behind me) but it just seems with so few days left they could just get to me already. Here's hoping they finish 2-06 next month but I have a bad feeling we may only get to the 27th...argh!!!

Looks like just 2...

Europe is now confirming that this was in fact just a 2 day batch and I'm sure the US will be confirming this in just a few hours. What does this mean...well no one knows but I do think February is definitely out now. There are some already predicting that they will get through 2-24-06 next month so I'll go ahead and hope for the 27th...why not dream big? There is some consolation in knowing that 6 of my 18 days are weekend days but again this doesn't seem to make a big difference. Come on turkey day bring us some good news and something extra to be thankful for!!

Thought we were gonna get lucky...

We had a small surprise earlier in the week and a few people with 2-16-06 LIDs got referrals. The CCAA has not updated their official site to reflect that the 16th is completed so for now we will just be happy that a few families got to see their babies faces a little early. So for the official count we still have 20 days of time until me.

2 days short...

I had hoped for the 17th of February but we got to the 15th. I guess the glass is half full because there was an early rumor that we might only get one day processed so I won't complain (to much anyway) about 6 days. I think it's realistic to let the dream of a New Year referral go and keep my fingers crossed for a very special Valentine instead (hopefully not a leprechaun). Only time will tell. I'm ready for Halloween is anyone else?

Shelby makes 12

I was on the rumor queen and found an interesting site that will tell you how many people have the same name and it turns out my Shelby will make the 12th Shelby G. in the US.

September 2nd brings more than I even hoped for...

WOW they processed 9 whole days...that is huge. So the bottom line is there are 26 days until me (did I mention 18 working days?). I had hoped for the 7th or maybe the 8th but we got the 9th! Hoping for a referral in 4-5 months...Happy New Year!

Good news arrived on 8-11-2008

Instead of getting 2 days we got 6! This officially ended the month of January and sets us up to start February for September. Yeah!

The olympics are here and have brought a small batch of referrals with them...

Well it looks like we will continue on with processing the month of January 2006. 2 days of referrals are all we will get this month (the 26th & 27th). This is the 6th month working on January...the light at the end of the tunnel is that Chinese New Year started the 29th and went through the 5th so hopefully next month we will get through the 6th or 7th...won't it be nice to be in February? Prayers for this!!

Still waiting for Shelby...

Our wait for Shelby began on September 13, 2005. We are now very close to being with our angel. We hope to travel in early 2009. This has been a journey filled with many highs and lows. I want to take this oppportunity to thank everyone who has stood by me and prayed for us. My mom-she has been on this roller coaster from the first informational meeting and we take turns keeping each other grounded, my family-my grandma who helped me have the best nursery ever and my LA gang-for not giving up that they will soon have another niece and cousin, friends-way to many to name but I'm going to try (and if I leave someone out don't fret we will call it a paper pregnancy moment)-Lauri (all the cards), the Wardskis, Jen., Lisa, Sheri, Tiffany, my Hillcrest UMC friends...always patiently letting me cry, vent, and forever guess at what China will do next, and last but not least my work family-I can't even begin to express how they have kept me lifted up...from Sally starting her hair bow collection, Chinese New Year celebrations, Sebrina always keeping up with the rumor queen and marking the days off as we get them, and finally all the cards and pick me ups left quietly on my desk at the most needed times. They always know when the end of the month comes (referral time) I need a shoulder and pep talk and never waiver in staying positive. So thank you all again for what you have done and all that I know you will do until we have "Shelby Marie from Tennessee" (from the famous ? my dad had for her in her quilt scrapbook "Shelby Marie are you really from Tennessee...you look Chinese to me")
